Island Bicycles is located on beautiful San Juan Island on the Puget Sound, we are only 90 minutes north of Seattle and just a short ferry ride away. Island Bicycles has been in operation under the same ownership and management since 1986, and specializes in fast repairs, quality service, and rents high-quality bicycles for self-directed cycle touring and sight-seeing in the beautiful San Juan Islands.
Island Bicycles carries a complete line of cycling accessories and clothing by Specialized, Giro, Bell, Blackburn, Pearl Izumi, and Bellwether. We sell bikes by Specialized,Waterford Precision, Gunnar, DeSalvo, Soma, Surly, and Redline. Our fleet of high-quality rental bikes is available by the hour, day, multi-day or week. Rental bikes provide a wonderful means of travel and sightseeing, without the hassle of transporting your own bikes from far away, risking damage from shipping. Our bicycles can easily be taken to the other ferry-serviced islands: Orcas, Shaw, and Lopez.
All adult bike rentals come with a water bottle cage (you must buy or bring your own water bottle), rear rack, and Jandd rack trunk with a lock and emergency tire inflator. A pump and tire repair kit can be provided if requested. Helmets are included with your rental at no extra charge.
We are are proud to rent Specialized Crossroads Sport and Globe hybrid/cross bikes, and high-performance road bikes by Specialized, Soma and Surly. We also have child trailers and cargo trailers by Burley and BOB. Want to bring Fido along? We have a Burley Tailwagon dog trailer for animals up to 45-50 pounds.Reservations are strongly recommended during the peak summer season (June - September) and Memorial Day weekend. If you wish to ride for just a few hours, it is best to drop in; we should have bikes available. Minimum charge on reserved bikes is one full day's rental (5-24 hours). Reservations must be made by phone and we request they be made 48 hours or more in advance. A major credit card number is needed for a deposit. We do all bike reservations by phone.
